WWTC Initiates Strategic Industry–Academia Collaboration with AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune
Pune, Maharashtra: Water World Talent Connect (WWTC) recently visited the Water & Wastewater Management Department, AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune, to discuss collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening the connection between academia and the water industry.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Netra Katkar, Director – Water World Talent Connect (WWTC) and Mr. Dattatray Khambayat, Founder – WWTC, who interacted with Mr. Prashant Walke, Group Instructor, and the faculty members of the Water & Wastewater Management Department.
During the interaction, both teams deliberated on the growing demand for skilled professionals in the water and wastewater sector, challenges faced by the industry in recruiting qualified manpower, and the importance of equipping engineering graduates with practical knowledge and industry-relevant skills.
A key highlight of the discussion was the presentation of the Water World Talent Connect (WWTC) platform, a dedicated digital ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between educational institutions, students, professionals, and employers in the water and environmental sector. The platform enables students to build professional profiles, access internships, industrial training, live projects, technical certifications, expert mentoring, and employment opportunities while allowing organizations to identify and recruit qualified talent.
Both organizations also explored opportunities for long-term collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), focusing on student onboarding to the WWTC platform, internships, industry-academia partnerships, industrial visits, guest lectures, on-the-job training, faculty development programmes, research collaboration, and skill development initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a shared vision of creating a sustainable talent ecosystem that enhances student employability, strengthens industry participation, and contributes to the development of a highly skilled workforce for India's rapidly growing water and environmental sector.
This collaboration marks an important step toward building stronger industry–academia partnerships and empowering the next generation of engineers with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities required to address future challenges in water management, wastewater treatment, environmental sustainability, and resource conservation.
